Type of volcano
Yellowstone volcano is a hotspot & caldera. "A hotspot is a place of significant activity or danger." A caldera is a large volcanic crater, typically one formed by a major eruption leading to the collapse of the mouth of the volcano." It doesn't spew lava, but it has occasional mudflows and comprises of many geysers. Rhyolite and Basalt rock shaped the volcano, these flows oozed slowly over the surface destroying everything in its path.
